Great issue Chris. I especially appreciated the introduction to Sasha and particularly the quote from One Year of Okayness. I'm torn on the subject of jumping into public discourse on the awakened state. I have a ton of writing on the subject that I did for myself, based on the experience of falling through the floorboards of personality into a profound simplicity of being, but online formats just feel too flat and horizontal to successfully commune regarding that vertical realm. But that could all just be my own fear of being vulnerable about those experiences in public.
Hey Rick, thanks for your comments. I sympathize about the public discourse part. I originally didn't include any of my own story in this piece, and only did so because Latham called me out big time in his feedback! Even then, I feel ambivalent about it. There are reasons for the traditional taboo against talking about awakening experiences. On the other hand, I've personally been helped a lot by the writers I know who have shared their experiences in this realm. So I'd like to gently encourage you to share yours, even if it's privately at first (I'd be happy to chat offline about this). By the way, "falling through the floorboards of personality into a profound simplicity of being" is a great turn of phrase. Cheers!
Thanks Chris. There is merit in risking more in this domain, but mindfully as well. I'm feeling a useful nudge here in your writing about it, and will sit with it a bit and see what shows up. But also much appreciate your invitation for an offline chat.
