Thanks, Rick! I do think positive reappraisal is something we can do naturally, but it comes more easily to some people than others. I tend to think of it more as a skill that can be practiced and developed over time. A useful analogy might be running: it's something humans can naturally do, but you can get a whole lot better at it if you train.
