Absolutely! I'm always looking for the tiny changes that will yield outsized results.

I agree with this whole heartedly! I deactivated all my social media accounts years ago, and I really think it was an unexpected inflection point in my life. I didn’t do it for this reason, but there is so much power in *not* numbing your brain. Obviously, now I’m active on Twitter but even then I don’t have it on my phone. I can feel how addicting it is though. Great advice here!

Yeah, I only use Twitter from my laptop and I feel like that helps. I also try to use a Pomodoro timer when I'm writing tweets or doing engagement.

I think you mentioned the Pomodoro timer on Twitter and I’ve been doing it! When I remember to set it, it helps a ton!

I’m a pretty good watercolorist but I stopped painting. Now I waste time looking at other artists’ work and watching their demos on Instagram. I’m definitely going to set some limits and spend that time working on my own art! Thanks for the kick in the butt!

Looking at other people's work can be a great source of inspiration, as long as it doesn't take the place of creating your own :)

Love this challenge, I'm going to take you up on it!

I'm curious, what does your daily screentime look like, outside of your phone?

Do you spend much time on the computer each day?

That's my next challenge to tackle. I don't spend a ton of time on social media on my computer, but between reading stuff, writing, paperwork/billing, and seeing clients via Zoom, I'm probably on my Macbook 5-6 hours per day.

Intentional screen time is certainly better than minding scrolling in a social situation. I still wonder if I am on screens to much even without social/phone. Blue light is dangerous.
